SIXTH ANNUAL NATIONAL SEMINAR ORGANISED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF COOPERATIVE GOVERNANCE, NATIONAL DISASTER MANAGEMENT CENTRE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE LIMPOPO PROVINCIAL DISASTER MANAGEMENT CENTRE AND MOPANI DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY.

VENUE: ​​TZANEEN COUNTRY LODGE, TZANEEN, LIMPOPO

 

 THEMES FOR 2019

  • Theme 1: Climate change and variability: Implications for the sustainable delivery of fire services;
  • Theme 2: Veldfire risk management: The strategic role of Fire Protection Associations (FPAs);
  • Theme 3: Implementation of National Building Regulations;
  • Theme 4: Community based fire risk reduction;
  • Theme 5: Improving fire safety through engineering (rational designs)
  • Theme 6: A mandate based national collaborative model for disaster risk management and fire services between the public and private sector.

 MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE SEMINAR

 To discuss progress, challenges, proposed solutions and recommendations towards reducing fire risks and losses in the country..


 POSTER EXHIBITION

A poster exhibition will be on display throughout the seminar and will include a selected number of examples to demonstrate various aspects of the seminar's themes. Initially you are invited to register your interest by submitting proposals for projects that you would like to be considered for the exhibition. If selected, you will be asked to provide text, images and drawings from which the exhibition designer will create the exhibits. The poster exhibition will be formally opened at the end of the first day of the conference
